Kid Talk

Five things you should communicate to your kids everyday

1. I love you. (With words and hugs.)
2. How are you feeling/doing today? (Show you care.)
3. How can I make your day better? (You want to be involved.)
4. I'm praying for you today. (Then really do it!)
5. Goodnight. I love you. (Reassure that love at the end of the day.)

Any other "must say" stuff?

Along with "Eat your dinner" we try to communicate the fact that she's special...and include some concrete things from that day (and our thoughts on what Jesus thinks of her) to back it up.

Travis,

That is simple, yet deep. I take my kids for granted so often. If I tell them once a week, in audible words, that I love them, that is probably stretching it. it's so easy to think they just automatically know I love them. What you have shared is true. Thanks for the reminder. I'd like to post your "5 things" on my own blog if you don't mind.
